Bacteria could be a key player in the fight against plastic.

PFAS, also known as forever chemicals, are used in many consumer products and have been connected to various conditions such as cancer. Thankfully, scientists have discovered a strain of bacteria that can break down these dangerous chemicals and consume them for energy. The researchers are now studying how to further speed up this process. The study is published in the Journal Science Of The Total Environment. (University at Buffalo)

Research published in the journal Psycho-Neuro-Endocrinology shows that romantic love increases the activity of genes responsible for antiviral defenses.
